Need help in using pusher with Flarum

I investigated a little, and have some conclusions.
It seems, that notification works only, when forum is visible to public view.
Pusher plugin listens for two events: PostWasPosted, and NotificationWillBeSent. First one is raised when there is new post, and notification is sent, if Guest user can see it:

            $pusher = $this->getPusher();

        $pusher->trigger('public', 'newPost', [
            'postId' => $event->post->id,
            'discussionId' => $event->post->discussion->id,

        ]);
    }
}

second type of notification, NotificationWillBeSent, should send notification, if user can see a post:

        $pusher = $this->getPusher();
        $blueprint = $event->blueprint;

    foreach ($event->users as $user) {
        if ($user->shouldAlert($blueprint::getType())) {

But after search in my whole Flarum instance, I haven't found a single line of code, that rises it. So no chances for push notification...
Am I missing something? Maybe there is some extension, that rises this event? Or is it a bug, and I should write about it on Github?

Looks like Pusher don't work on Private / Non public discussions.
Currently my forum can establish connections and some notifications are pushed, example:

New posts appear dynamically in public accessible discussions
Notification about all new fallowing / lurking / flagged posts appear on flag / bell icon

But on non public / private discussion new posts don't appear dynamically.

I have some problems with this extension too. Live update in open discusiion works fine, but if I'm on the front page and someone starts new discussion yellow bar don't appear. If someone comment on old discussion yellow bar works fine. Notification bell don't work for me - no notifications at all.

Anybody found a fix for this? Same problem as @ANONIMNIQ Pusher works within a thread but does not work on a new topic post on the front page of the forum. Have tried with and without cluster as well as adding code as suggested by @The_F4m3 , have enabled and disabled pusher, cleared web browser cache as well as php flarum cache. Still having same issue.

Hi all, sorry for disturb.
I don't have access to the admin panel so i don't know how it is.
How can i set manually the cluster api key for not having the error mentionned in the topic.
I don't find the data in database to. And i don't have an .env file

In admin panel, i have this 😀
"Something went wrong while trying to load the full version of this site. Try hard-refreshing this page to fix the error. "

and for the javascript error it tell me that i use Pusher without given the cluster Id.

Hi there
Since ppl asked for an extension like pusher we tried to get it running.
Here is what i figured out:

if we use pusher on the flarum cloud and create a pusher app with cluster "eu" and no front end/back end choice, it worked pretty well out of the box. We can see "vacated", "connection", "disconnection", "suscribed", "occupied" and more important: "API MESSAGE" in the pusher debug console. Also the browser shows the nice little hint with the update message as it should.
if we use pusher on our webspace and create another pusher app with cluster "eu" and no front end/back end choice, it won't work. We can see "suscribed", "connection", "occupied", BUT no "API MESSAGE" in the pusher console. No little hint with the update message on the board. :-(

Anyone any idea where the problem could be? If we can see those messages, could it still be our webspace provider blocking the api message? Or could it be another extension interfering?

Oh and one more thing - if I use this (from the pusher "getting started"-part) in the web "putty" console of provider:

m4v3rick what do you mean by Flarum cloud? You mean FreeFlarum? (FreeFlarum is managed by a community member and not the Flarum Foundation)

If Flarum cannot send the payload to Pusher servers, there should be an error in Flarum log file at <storage>/logs. And I expect a big error on the page as well.

What action on the forum are you doing to try to get a Pusher API message logged?

Sorry, correct. I meant FreeFlarum, my bad.
I checked the logs already, actually we checked it several times. No logs for the days we tested pusher in the storage log folder.
Can't see any error on the page - what do you expect to see actually?

I try to make a new post with my logged-in user in a discussion free for all to visit. On my other computer with a browser without any add-ons I am waiting for any update sign. Nothing.
On the community FreeFlarum it works.
It also works with the pusher test website.

Here is some new information about my tries:
If I backup flarum database and folder from our webspace and import it locally into my xampp, I activated pusher and guess what. It worked. I tried migrate, clear:cache on both spaces, but only locally the same board got that push. Online I see events in the debug console, but I don't see that API:MESSAGE I need to see.
What could it be? 🙁

Edit - Now this is the fancy part:
If I deactivate Pusher locally and activate it online (with browser FF) and leave my other browser (IE) with the website (not logged in with any user) opened. Go with the browser FF to the flarum backend and deactivate Pusher online, but activate it locally (same Pusher settings of course) and then make a post with the browser FF locally Pusher pushes a message to both websites on browser (IE) locally and online with no logged in user, but I get the update immediately.
After refreshing the online flarum it stops working (of course, because Pusher is deactivated online already).

Test with the terminal on the provider site works to. But the flarum forum at the provider web space still does not push after a new post.

iqbal It doesn't really matter, but you could use "Laravel".

To set up pusher, you'll need to go into the "App Keys" section of the relevant channels project, and copy over the values to Flarum's admin dashboard.

askvortsov Thank you for your relpy. But Laravel is not available on that dropdown while creating a channel on Pusher. Any other option I select gives an error on the console.
