Justman10000 However, I get an error during the installation: The "https://repo.packagist.org/packages.json" file could not be downloaded: failed to open stream: Connection timed out
tankerkiller125 Justman10000 This sounds like your server is having issues with DNS resolution or the packagist servers in your area were having issues, can you run nslookup repo.packagist.org and paste the results?
Justman10000 root@vps2061266:/home/users/proxygames/www# nslookup repo.packagist.org Server: 62.141.32.5 Address: 62.141.32.5#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name: repo.packagist.org Address: 54.38.136.239 Name: repo.packagist.org Address: 2001:41d0:801:1000::12c9
tankerkiller125 Justman10000 Well that looks fine, to be honest I'm not 100% sure what's going on here. My only guess is that packagist was having issues or your server is having issues reaching it for some reason.
Justman10000 @tankerkiller125 Well, the problem is, I had given the command composer config --global repo.packagist composer packagist.org via another tutorial, which only resulted in this message: Your configuration does not allow connections to http://repo.packagist.org/packages.json. See https://getcomposer.org/doc/06-config.md#secure-http for details.
gozen Justman10000 Your configuration does not allow connections to http://repo.packagist.org/packages.json. See https://getcomposer.org/doc/06-config.md#secure-http for details. Justman10000 I already have the packages.json! Can you describe the current error then?
gozen You might need to check that you do not block access to that repo.packagist.org server, I can't tell if you tried nslookup from your server or from your local computer. Try to do a traceroute or a ping or even a wget http://repo.packagist.org/packages.json
