Darkle yeah it wasn't convenient to begin with. This change helps, but isn't applicable to a specific mode where you first register a payment method and then reuse it. They have plans to add it for that use case too though, something really helpful for Blomstra hosting and potentially Extiverse subscriptions.

I have readied up 0.5.0-beta:

fixes a bug where users could again subscribe to access the same group
adds a user subscription page where users can cancel running subscriptions and view past payments

0.6.0 is still under development, but I'm stoked about it. This new release will add bounties.

Bounties can be enabled per tag so that users can pledge any amount to the cause of a discussion.
There's a permission, if set to something else than Everyone, discussions first will need approval to get bounties activated.

What still needs to be done is:

Keep track of pledges per discussion and render the sum on discussion view and index.
Show all backers, similar to how gamification shows upvoters.
Allow setting a terms url and render terms in close proximity to Bounty buttons and possibly the other payment method buttons too.

Bounties

Users can donate on a discussion page to raise funds for whatever the discussion is for, under the tags that allow bounties. If the tag requires a permission group to first enable bounties, discussions will need to be manually activated.

Great for crowdfunding and feature request funding.

can the admin add dummy funding? in my case, if there is a feature request which needs $100 and as an admin i want to fund $10 without making any real transaction is this possible?

in another way, the user sends us a Demand Draft or a Bank Cheque to support funding .. is it possible to add funds manually?

This is just a random question - at this moment i do not have any intention to use it but checking the possibilities of the current version

Hari Honestly I haven't tried bounties yet, but at least with products you can generate 100% discount codes, I think it should let you add promo codes to them as well, so you could have a lifetime discount code as an admin to do this kind of transactions.

Hari what @Darkle says is possible. It is probably the easiest solution, another way is adding entries to the bounties table manually but I'd just use the promotion code solution.

Thanks to @SychO we can now specify a terms URL in the Payments settings page in version 0.5.1. If you do configure this, a user attempting to pay for any action will be shown a modal where they need to accept the terms before continueing to Stripe. It's one URL to one terms page, so make sure to define terms for all payment methods you've enabled on that page. This can be a discussion a FoF Pages page or just a web page.

I think that's music to more than one's ears, the lucky ones arrive just with the extension in an amazing state of features!

The "Subscriptions" section has stopped showing the user's active subscriptions, I'm not sure with which of the latest versions it stopped working, with 0.5.0-beta.2 which was the last one I checked it worked fine, anyway it would be great if someone can confirm this as I have migrated server and installed everything from scratch so maybe it's my fault 🤷

I created an account solely to thank you for this. Though I have yet to install Flarum, I believe it is the best out there.

I appreciate all that you and the rest of the team do for the community.

And I look forward to creating a small online community for my workplace.

Lurker I am without words, thank you so much for these kind words!

My hope for this extension is to keep improving it with valuable features for any community that considers monetization. Ads are very difficult to make money with, using premium groups, paid advertorials and other user driven monetization strategies should bridge the gap to running your community sustainably.

0.5.9 adds the ability to assign a tag to a discussion that receives a pledge.

luceos Thanks for this amazing extension! These are some of the features that I would love to see in the future:

PTA:

Feature: Add option for one-off payments (customer chooses price).
Benefit: Allows people to get a badge for making one-time donations.
Optional: Bypass PTP and PTV if users are members of a PTA group

PTP:

Feature: Add coloured borders or backgrounds on discussions that have been sponsored or paid to be posted.
Benefit: Makes sponsored or paid posts stand out from the rest of the discussions.
Optional: Place expiration timers on sponsored or paid posts
