admiralarjun but not updating the database? that's upto what people want, i am ok even if it is updated to the db.
If the database is updated, we have to have special code for that, check that the user is allowed to do it. Also, the changes would propogate to all users, which doesn't work with the "stored locally" idea you had.
Essentially, I'm proposing that in posts, deviation from the initial state by clicking on the checkboxes would propogate to all users (as it does now). However, for any use of checkboxes outside of posts, each user's changes from the initial state via click would be stored locally for that user in browser.
