I think the Trust Levels extension is a perfect example of a good extension that manages stuff for other extensions. A more centralised extension. I am thinking about doing a PR to this extension so it will also support handing out badges (but I'll need to discuss this first of course).

I have the exact same thoughts. I don't see much point in every single extension building their own logic to capture these metrics to handle events based off. That particular extension is very powerful in that regard, and the metrics and event logic it has available to it would be applicable to many other extensions. It would be great for it to be a centralized extension that can be extended and hooked into by others for metrics/events.

This is on the roadmap, but my backlog is quite large with core stuff and school.

For those that are still using flarum beta 15, a good stable version, use

composer require v17development/flarum-user-badges:^0.1.1

An error has been encountered while going to the user profile, first it doesn't show the number of badges
and when you click on badge, this is how it displays

and when you reload the badge page, it shows okay

I suspect, when the user profile is accessed at first time, the extension doesn't load, it loads once its clicked and reloaded

Release v0.1.3 - Flarum v1.0.0 compatible & Auto Moderator integration

This update makes the badges extension compatible with Flarum v1.0.0 and has now also an integration with @askvortsov 's Auto Moderator extension! When you install this extension, users can be automatically rewarded with badges without the intervention of a community employee 🎉

I'm not too sure what the best way would be to implement images for badges. Aren't badges too small for images?

This will become available in a later update! It will also be possible to set a primary badge (for when people are proud to have received a specific badge) 😎

Yes, if you can show the badge on the profile, (ex : along with admin, moderator badges) that would be awesome!

Release v0.2.0 - Added badge pages & notifications

It's time for an update! This release we've added a badges overview page, a badge detail page (with a user list) and a Badge received notification!

The badge overview page is slightly customizable, per badge-category you can decide if the badges should be shown in big-blocks or in a simple table-list. That's great for when you have a temporary event-badges or want to highlight a specific badge-category 🙂
