It's a bug report. For YouTube, when the MediaEmbed option in Formatting extension is turned on, the embedding doesn't work. It'll not work with RichText extension.

comseong users on my forum were complaining some videos cannot be embedded and I thought it was something from YouTube. What can be done? Disable the extension?

CyberGene Here's my guess. When you post links from youtube, the editor will automatically transform them from raw strings to clickable links. I'll look into whether I can disable this.

CyberGene If you do want YouTube links to be previewed, you should install the "Formatting" plugin.

I think it may be a YouTube bug though. The problem is not with links, rather with embedding YouTube videos. The window is there but it's black and says the video cannot be played. Doesn't happen with all YouTube videos. I tried disabling the rich text but it's still the same, so I think it's a YouTube thing instead.

Umutcan yes, that's the plugin I have. It shows previews for some YouTube videos but not for all. I thought maybe the Rich Text is the reason why some of them do not work but seems that's not the case. Maybe a YouTube copyright thing.

CyberGene I think we've seen this issue before and there must be a discussion somewhere on this forum about it, but I can't find it anymore.

The YouTube embed iframe might show a message saying it can't play the embedded video for some videos, and it had something to do with cross-origin or cookie configuration. I think it was something with the default Flarum headers not pleasing YouTube on some videos that need additional tracking.

Youtube working fine for me.

It also might be the the country you living in. Sometimes some videos will not play for me due to restrictions that author set up or what not.

The YouTube issue isn't a bug in the WYSIWYG editor, we are using the extension on a couple of sites with no problem with YouTube embeds.

As Clark said above, it's a problem with your security headers, I can't remember the solution of the to of my head, but I'll take a look for it.

[ center ] bbcode is supported by Flarum (or an extension) but this editor not support. Pls fix

HasanMerkit As I've noted above, I have no plans to support bbcodes at this time. Another extension could hook into this one.

ART994 are you able to find an error message in Flarum log files at <flarum>/storage/logs, in the webserver logs or in the page response body?

You can also enable debug in config.php temporarily and try again, the full error should be shown in the page.

ART994 I had that sometimes, you need to increase the memory of the PHP server.

iPurpl3x was 128mb, increased to 1gb, but only this extension requires a lot, the rest worked flawlessly

Can any help me confirm if this extension support highlighting a text to quote (flarum default feature). I just realize I don't see it on my forum anymore
