If you never used FoF Upload, there doesn't seem to be any reason to use this extension.
Even if you used FoF Upload, I'm not sure why you would need this extension though, as you can simply disallow uploading new images in FoF Upload while keeping it enabled.
If you are wondering whether allowing image uploads is good for your SEO, this is a very different question that probably merits its own dedicated discussion. If you create such a discussion, please mention your community industry and target demographic so people running similar communities can share their experience. I don't think the specific image upload extensions provide any particular benefit, as long as they allow typing alt texts, I think they will all look very similar to search engines.
