Use of social media

How well do you use social media to elevate your forum traffic ? Do you have any favourite platform ?

meetdilip I use Twitter primarily. I have a page on Facebook too. But, I have a personal dislike towards Facebook so I mainly stick with Tweeting.

Does Twitter work for marketing? If you stay very active. I don’t tweet all the time. But, when I do retweet others and get more active my follower count increases.

Anyways, I don't use social media that much. I just don't like it. They're rather... questionable, when it comes to privacy and data protecion, so I try to just avoid it.

SKevo I know. I might get yelled at for mentioning so many people. That’s not proper forum etiquette. BUT, I’m special. I’m Billy. So... ya know. Special rules, right?

I hate social media too. But. It’s a free way to try and get the word out about your community.

I think this works:
Pick ONE. Stick with it. Post daily. Quality posts. Follow many people. Be nice. Slowly you’ll get friends/followers. Slowly, people might visit your site. But it takes a long time posting daily, high quality content. It’s not easy.

You don't necessarily need a decent connection - I can upload HD ± 5 minute video without problem in 30 minutes (1 mbps upload 🙈)
