Hey, so if I run this command: cd public_html && mkdir flarum && cd flarum
Will that mean Flarum will be in a folder called Flarum?
I want it to be installed at MYDOMAIN.com is this possible?

Or does it have to be on a sub-domain like it is here at Flarum.org? If so, should I name the folder what I want that sub-domain to be instead of calling the folder Flarum?

Okay, awesome! I will use another name for it then instead of "Flarum". I used "disucss" instead.

Another update...it came to this at the bottom:

And now the command line is back up wanting me to enter a comman. I go to MYDOMAIN.org/discuss (the folder I made) and it is just a index page...

what did I do wrong?

I did this command first: cd public_html && mkdir discuss && cd discuss

and then entered this: composer create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=beta

Is that what you need?

Or do you need this: /home/MYUSERNAME/public_html/discuss/

There is not one....do I have to manually add those?

aaronhall no, something went wrong during install...u should have a folder like this, exept for the "workbench" folder.... (i use custom path, so if u want your site that point on the root u need to follow custom path rules here):

remove all the file inside the discuss folder, point your terminal to that foder and launch again
composer create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=beta

otherwise try to point yoursite/discuss/public

Same thing. It wants to to click on "public" when I go to mydomain.org/discuss to install.
So, I tried installing it to see what happens and now this error pops up on the Flarum isntall page which happens to be now: mydomain.org/discuss/public

the error is: Something went wrong: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'USER NAME '@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Let me start over and try again

How do I move the files from "public" to the folder I want....in laymens terms how do I do this part: Simply move all the files inside the public directory (including .htaccess) into the directory you want to serve Flarum from. Then edit .htaccess and uncomment lines 9-15 in order to protect sensitive resources. For Nginx, uncomment lines 8-11 of .nginx.conf.

I don't understand what it means by uncomment.

In code, we can denote some lines as "comments", meaning they won't actually run or be evaluated. This is done by placing some special character, often a hashtag. If you remove the hashtag from the start of the line, that uncomment the line, and then the line will be run.
