For the "related discussions" with manual selection and default discussions from the same tag if none are set, probably around 2-3 hours work.
If we wanted to add automatic "relevance", we would need to choose an algorithm, and I have never implemented that kind of thing before. Since the Flarum search is already slow, I would imagine an automated query for related discussions would also have poor performance, unless we put it inside of a CRON job or async job. If we do that we will probably reach 4-5 hours as in my original estimate.
The cheapest option with me is definitely open-source since I offer a lower rate for it (50CHF/h, around 53USD at the moment).

Let's stick to basic level 3hours of work . I'm ready to sponsor for 1hr (53 USD) if you are ready we need to find 1 other sponser. 53x3 = 159 USD
Maybe @ctml @[deleted] are also interested in this I'm not sure . But sure we can find 1 other sponser it's the most requested extension.
After the initial release of related discussions extension we can plan for a upgrade.
