  • [SUSPENDED] Help us build the official Flarum hosting service

Bek

That's not happening. Toby is a 4th year med student and has to put in time as he can for Flarum development. It'll work out in the long run. This project means a lot to many of us. It's not going to die out until people decide to stop finding interest in it, and hopefully we're many years off from that.

We have been growing these last few months at a rate of 100+ new users per week. What would help out is if the growing community could find way for some more developers to help out with the issues so we can bring Flarum into a stable state sooner.

webeindustry To add to that, if you know how to fix an issue on Github (check the Good for New Contributors label for some starters), feel free to submit a pull request!

Toby Completely understandable and we appreciate the time you do put into development. Take your time and keep up the great work Toby. No rush. Rome wasn't built in a day.

    hosting service is dead? :/

    18 days later

Toby Would you like a hand? I've already got a working service that spins up flarum instances in around 9 seconds ?

      Garbott

I made two points, you'll have to be more specific than that ?

I'll address both and add a third to save you needing to respond back.

      1. My script takes less than 9 seconds if you don't count the LetsEncrypt provisioning.

      2. It would be naive to think the writing of a simple script is holding us back.

      3. The problem is not on the hosting end, per say. That should be obvious if you were to read the topic in full.

We do appreciate that there is still high interest in a hosting solution for Flarum, and let me make it clear that the announcement relates to the end of BETA hosting, but not the end of an official hosting solution for Flarum in the future.

Hi! Thanks to the OP for doing this. Any chance you could take on a new hosting account?

Cruizin Sorry to inform you that the hosting service is on hold for now. This decision will allow us to focus on making Flarum stable.

For now, we all need to sit back and wait.

Hello, can someone help me understand.

        Questions:

        1) This hosting service , once become available, will be a hosting service that is SEPARATE from the hosting company that I use for my website contents, so essentially I will have 2 hosting companies handling my site, 1 is to host Flarum and the other is the host I normally use for my own website contents, am I correct?

        2) If that is the case, how will my forum's URL look under Flarum's own hosting service?

        3) Say if I am going to install Flarum on my own server now, and later once Flarum's own hosting service becomes available, can I migrate my forum to Flarum's own hosting service easily without encountering too many problems?

        Many thanks..

        Thanks

jordanjay29 changed the title to [SUSPENDED] Help us build the official Flarum hosting service .

As stated above the hosting service has been suspended, therefore all answers to your questions would be pure speculation.
