Yea, like Davis said, we're planning on offering our own SMTP service in the near-future.
[SUSPENDED] Help us build the official Flarum hosting service
We're getting quite a few responses with good customer feedback as is!
I had to close down registrations again due to the popularity. No reason in over-committing this early in the stage of development!
The point of beta hosting is primarily to get feedback from customers, and to fix any major issues before our production launch. We love that we're providing free forums for members of the community, but trust people will understand there's a lot of hard-work involved in ironing-out the kinks that show up through the beta. As we stabilize the current set of circumstances, we will add new features that may introduce a new set of issues altogether!
Patience is definitely required of our testers, and as always through beta we don't recommend using the service in production until a stable release of the software is rolled out, and we have had enough time to thoroughly test our hosting platform through the rounds.
Thanks for the post!

Send an email to support@flarum.com if you're having issues after registering on the form.
As an answer to all who will be using a custom domain name, yes an a-record for "@" and "www" needs to be made if you're using the whole domain. If you're using a sub-domain, just a record for the subdomain, ex "forum" for forum.mydomain.com needs to be made.
Our beta server is not hosting the DNS directly, so no need to change the nameservers.
If you're meaning in relation to being able to upload for instance, your logo, or favicon, the answer would be yes. We're going to provide the means for you to do all essential functions required for getting your instance setup properly without having to resort to ssh/sftp access.
That's on the to-do list, but not yet implemented.
That's not related to hosting, this would be a question for the open-source software in another thread on discuss.flarum
webeindustry what Bek wants to know if the hosting allows you to upload to the server for amongst others image or other file extension uploads. There is already an image upload extension for instance.

Fair enough. Let me try to cover all grounds here.
We're definitely going to allow storage on the server. Our packages will have a limitation say... 5GB or so based on which plan you decide to go with.
So the capacity to upload will definitely exist, but the specifics will depend on which extensions are both created and enabled in the future.
It looks good!
I requested test service, activated for less than 24 hours!
My test Flarum is blazing fast! Free SMTP from sparkpostmail works perfect!
Approved!

I am a new user guys, but long term lurker . I have been waiting for a way to start a forum with flarum. I would be happy to pay if you can host and manage a brand new forum (0 posts).
Edit: Saw you have a form. Umm will you manage the websites like updates, backup and restore(if necessary) ?
I have to ask since you are offering the service for free currently.
Weekly remote, encrypted + compressed backups have been going on since week 1. Restoration, if need be, is available.
webeindustry We'll also be offering a lot of perks like https from the get-go, frequent local & remote backups, restore, and a web-management panel where you can handle common tasks from within your browser.
Any specific management panel?
If you're asking of one that currently exists, no. This isn't c-panel or plesk. It's a custom design from the ground up.

Wow, this might be very cool indeed. I imagine you will be creating everything from ground up: billing, account management etc. If its not too much to ask in which way you plan to structure database for hosted accounts?
I think Spark could be helpful:
Just a note if you are not familiar with it.
webeindustry Great to know, I wasn't aware you did routine backups. Good practice.
webeindustry That's good to hear!
If it weren't for me hosting a Flarum forum then I'd definitely be in for this. I'm also interested to know what sort of pricing is planned. Are there any confirmed figures at this stage or is that still being discussed?
I'm weighing up the prices of all of my projects and sites at this stage so budgeting is key.
According the first post:
While we can't confirm pricing yet, we'll be aiming to have a base package that costs at most $10 per month (hopefully less).
Well it would've helped if I had scrolled up a few pages. ? My bad @Davis! I do remember reading that before but I've been away for a week or so.

A quick update we have SMTP service centralized for beta instances. It works out of the box without any configuration now ?
