maged_qwani 7.3 has been END OF LIFE since january 2022. 7.4 has been END OF LIFE since january this year. Perhaps it's time to upgrade instead of relying on a php version that no longer receives security updates.

Is that possible that too many set events could cause heavy burden of CPU from database? I currently have 13 events in my forum, and sometimes I notice MYSQL occupies most of the CPU unexpectedly when online users increase. I am trying to identify which is the extension that may cause to the issue 🥹

terminal gives warning as this extension is abandoned. O have searched on github end extiverse but I could not new extension that is offered as alternative (askvortsov/flarum-automod).

Package askvortsov/flarum-auto-moderator is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use askvortsov/flarum-automod instead.
Package fabpot/goutte is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use symfony/browser-kit instead.
Package swiftmailer/swiftmailer is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use symfony/mailer instead.
Package zerosonesfun/direct-links is abandoned, you should avoid using it. No replacement was suggested.

luceos I got the same warning message as fakruzaruret about askvortsov/flarum-auto-moderator being abandoned. on the the extension page in my admin panel, when I clicked on "</>source" to go to its github page there were no messages (archived or else), the install and update procedure listed in the readme is still using askvortsov/flarum-auto-moderator BUT I noticed that the rep name changed (? I guess) to flarum-automod

After checking packagist, the extension is indeed listed as abandoned there and that we should use askvortsov/flarum-automod instead but it nowhere to be found on the site https://packagist.org/packages/askvortsov/

oh and finally, the extension doesn't appear anymore on the mercury extension although it's still installed and active on my flarum as you can see here

We'll need @askvortsov input to understand what he intends.

The Packagist package is called askvortsov/flarum-auto-moderator while the GitHub repo is called askvortsov1/flarum-automod. That's perfectly fine. The latest version from the GitHub repo seems to be correctly published to Packagist, so nobody is missing any update.

The package is marked abandoned on Packagist only and suggests using askvortsov/flarum-automod package instead, but there is no such package on Packagist. There's also no trace of that new package name in the GitHub repository.

While we wait for clarification I don't think there's any danger just ignoring the warning.

clarkwinkelmann It seems Askortsov updated his repository 2 weeks ago but currently it is not installable on terminal.

Doesn't seem like this extension is very actively updated anymore, but thought I'd post this in case anyone comes across the same issue. This extension causes a conflict with giving Edit User Attributes permission to a non-admin user. With the AutoModerator extension disabled, you can give Edit User Attributes to any role and they'll be able to view + change the user's email and any other attributes from other extensions.

With AutoModerator enabled, it causes a 403 (Forbidden) on the /api/criteria:

Note this doesn't affect admin users.

I updated the readme of askvortsov1/flarum-automod to accurately reflect:

the concepts of the extension
a description of how it works
what's left to be done (mostly the frontend)
what's already implemented

Unfortunately I don't see myself having time to code the remaining things on the TODO in the near future, but for a MVP version, the biggest things missing are the frontend, and deciding on a rule saving mechanism (settings vs database).

If anyone is interested in picking this up, I would be happy to code review. I think this has potential to be one of the most powerful extensions out there, and unlock many new extensions.

Great extension!

But I have a couple of questions -

What is the difference between "Discussion Entered" and "Discussion Participated".
Also, what is "Posts Made"? Isn't it the same as Discussion Started or Participated?

akrimony12 To be honest I'am not 100% sure, so maybe someone will correct me but as I understand:

Discussion entered is just opening a Discussion without giving an answer, so just reading, while participate is to actually post something in this discussion.
Discussions are the main topic or the first post. Like here for example the description of the extension. A post is an answer to this discussion, like here your questions. You also can see the difference on your profile.

I am still not sure I understand the difference between "Posts" and "Discussion Participated" :/ or between "Posts" and "Discussions" for that matter. Do replies come under "posts" and direct messages on a topic come under "discussion"??

It'd be great if we could have one line descriptions of each once the user selects them from the drop down or something. @askvortsov

I understand that you are confused, but it's actually quite simple 🙂

For example:
If you post 3 answers in 1 discussion than you still participate in only 1 discussion but made 3 posts.

@askvortsov - While the extension is amazing and a lot of thought has been given for every use case, I think the UX of the metrics needs to be improved. For instance, I didn't realize that the ">=" signs toggle until I saw your screenshots in the original post of this thread.

Just my two cents, it should be made a bit more clear for the users. For example, there are broadly 3 conditions for a metric -

Between two numbers
Greater than or equal to a number
Less than or equal to a number

These could be represented like this -

Also, is there a way to set an AND/OR condition between two metrics? For example, I want a badge to be given when the user has 10 likes or more AND started 3 or more discussions. Please let me know if this is possible.
