SQL error on installation

I notice NULL is in quotes in the error message. Is it trying to set the string 'NULL' as default value? I don't know how that could happen.

EDIT: for reference it must be this migration that's erroring https://github.com/flarum/core/blob/master/migrations/2015_09_22_030432_rename_notification_read_time.php the error is even more surprising since the migration isn't changing its type/default, just its name. So it should already be a nullable timestamp at this point.

[deleted] This is what's really confusing me about this error: if you look at the message, the column is of type DATETIME, not time TIMESTAMP. And I haven't really heard of DBs having issues with null-default datetime columns.

[deleted] Alright. This is gonna be a total shot in the dark, but why not. Let's try loading in the dev version of Flarum 1.0, which puts a bunch of DB structure into a sql dump instead of migrations to speed up installs. Since the error happens on rename, we might be able to avoid it.

Follow the instructions in https://discuss.flarum.org/d/27235-extension-developers-flarum-10-qa-phase-update-period to update to 1.0.0 dev locally, then upload those files and try the install again.

By the way, for anyone else browsing this thread, this is not an endorsement of using 1.0 dev in production. A stable 1.0 will be released very soon, just be patient 😉.
