Yesterday the Board agreed on making Translations a formal division of the Flarum project. Translations are a fundamental piece of the puzzle in making Flarum available and accessible worldwide. By making it a separate division, next to Foundation, Tech and Community we can guarantee sufficient focus is given. It also means it needs its own leadership and some kind of structure to work efficiently.
Coordinating the Translation project are @Justoverclock and @GreXXL, both have already been committed to our cause in their position as verified community leaders (Italian and German). They will be the first contact for translators and will oversee a healthy translation ecosystem.
@rob006 has been running a Weblate instance to improve translations for Flarum for a very long time. We've been strongly recommending his project for quite a while, but now we feel it should be part of the Translations project as a core component.
These three people will be on-boarded as Flarum project team members and active translators will be given a special badge to indicate their involvement in Flarum.
