How to skip Warning about installing from Composer v 1

Hi, as I want to install Flarum on my webhost, I only have Composer version 1 available. But always a message pops up to notify me to update Composer.
Unfortunately I can't do that because I don't have the rights to do that and the hosting said I can download composer.phar I know that but it's hard to work with, I prefer to install via composer command rather than php composer.phar

1. Is it possible to disable this warning on older versions of Composer ?
2. Apparently Flarum installs it but it doesn't show the whole listing on installation but only this:

3. Is there a problem that I am installing via Composer in an older version ?

rg90 if you have no other choice you can continue using Composer v1 for now, but it's being phased out so eventually you will need to update. There's no need to hide the warning, it doesn't prevent Composer from working.

If you don't see anything else in the output underneath the warning it's possible that Composer is timing out or killed by your server. Composer v2 will help with that as it's a lot more optimized for hostings with limited resources.

If composer.phar is working, I really recommend you use that. If you are able to customize your .bashrc or PATH you could setup an alias for the shorter composer command to point to your composer.phar, but really it shouldn't be a big problem to run php composer.phar instead of composer? Even if you type it, you will overall save time since Composer v2 is so much faster.

Thank you, but it's easier for me to call the composer command.

But when I try to install Flarum via Composer v.2 I see the whole line how to install 100%, 100% etc.

I only see 1 line for Composer 1 so I don't know if everything has been installed well.

And the announcement really can't be turned off?

I have hosting at hostinger so I don't know when they will upgrade to v.2 but probably soon. I have no idea why they don't want to upgrade to me at 2.

And with composer.phar there is a lot of work, it must be in the folder where I then have Flarum right? As I install flarum via composer.phar, I have to put this file in the root and install flarum, then I have to move composer.phar back to the installation folder to make it easier for me to install add-ons. Well, in short, the composer is simple as far as the display is concerned 🙂

And if i run command for install Flarum Composer 1 will not install all the files probably ..

composer.phar can be anywhere, you just need to add the path to the command.

For example if you have /home/user123/mywebsite/composer.phar and want to install Flarum in /home/user123/mywebsite/public_html, you can cd in /home/user123/mywebsite/public_html and run php ../composer.phar create-project [...]

Ok Thanks and if i run command via composer in my clear hosting, composer make in root any folders its ok right ? I mean folders like cache etc..
So what is better bin composer or this composer.phar
can I speed it up somehow so I still don't have to write cd /../ .. etc?

I type

cd /domains/mywebsite/public_html

then i run php /home/u142898952/composer.phar create-project flarum/flarum .

my composer.phar file is located in folder home

And WORKS !!
