How to update Flarum via old extensions

Hi i have few questions about correct Flarum update with old extensions.

Example: If i have Flarum version v.1.0.2 and my extensions is version 1.0.0 or 1.0.1. etc.. and now is relased new version of Flarum what is the correct procedure for updating.

First I have to turn off all active extensions and give unninstal or even remove them using SSH ?
And then I have to install a new version of Flarum?

rg90 that won't be necessary. Unless the instructions mention so, you should be able to update extensions with just a composer update and a cache clear.

Removing extensions ahead of an upgrade is something we suggest for flarum itself, not extensions.

rg90 you should set all extensions in your composer.json to „*“.

When updating with dependencies then all extension will be upgraded to the newest compatible version as well. If a extension is not (yet) available composer will let you know. It’s up to you if you either wait or remove this extension then.

Within 1.0.x extension should not needed to be updated as no braking changes will be introduced.

rg90 the authors of the extension set version constraints so if there are any conflicts when you upgrade through composer it will error out before the upgrade. However the whole intent behind 1.0 was supposed to be a solidified extension API that won't undergo breaking changes between minor updates, so technically all extensions released as compatible with 1.0 should remain compatible until 2.0. The version of the extension doesn't have to match the flarum version you're on to be compatible.

Easiest way to upgrade while also checking extension compatibility is using the extiverse helper tool imo.

And if i have installed Flarum, is possible delete all Composer files in root ?
Doesn't it somehow affect the stability of the site?

I ask because when I download a new composer.phar if the site will work?
I accidentally installed the root extension so I want to delete everything except the page file and download the new compsore.phar.

And a question about the update, before updating the Flarum version, do I have to turn off and uninstall all extensions?
Nowhere on the page have you described in detail how to perform updates. Just a few brief lines that are useless for beginners.
