Import Wordpress posts into Flarum, how? n00b!

Hi folks,

I'm really new here in Flarum County, so maybe I'm asking dumb or unnecessary questions. Please be a little gentle (for the time being).

I went through a lot of YT video's and features provided by Flarum and other platforms. This made me conclude that I must go for Flarum 😀

What I first noticed is the way of different approach-thinking which made be a bit dizzy in the first place, but hey, I'm still here, good sign right?

I was wondering, before I get sweat and tears (maybe some scars) from moving every post from our 'old' Wordpress blog manually. Of course I could do this with SQL / PHPMyadmin, but there must be a simpler way I thought!

Is this correct, or do I have to do it all manually?

No such thing exists. We all started at the lowest level and the easiest way to level up is by asking questions in a respectful way.

What you have to understand though is that you cannot simply transfer database, tables and fields aren't alike at all. The best thing to find would be a wordpress migration tool, there have been a couple but they might no longer be working:

I mean how things are built up to acquire a really fast and transparent platform. For example using composer, no static html files, JS driven, the way extensions are implemented etc. I think it just takes some time getting used to this way of working 😀

What came to my mind also is the possibility to export / import data. IMO should this be a basic feature on every platform. Just simple XML/CSV data to export / import. Feature request?

We just hit stable and have a im-/exporting toolset planned for the future.

Hielkio it might still take months, especially because none of the research for that has been done yet. So in the meantime it might be faster and easier (not cheaper) to have a developer do it. There are a couple of people who have tons of experience with Flarum and migrations; eg @IanM and @clarkwinkelmann.
