Why flarum is still behind Discourse?

I see this https://meta.discourse.org/t/which-is-better-discourse-or-flarum/71726 when I was seeing https://discuss.flarum.org/d/94 I just clicked the link in first post and it was not found error 404 that topic was removed and then discourse shown me automatically that topic which is better flarum or discourse and I clearly seen that NO one cares that they both started at the same time. You can simply take a look at their twitter account.

and Also discourse is having something named Quality with Quantity but flarum is having Quality but like as we take a look at the support tag and let me talk about a day ago topic only someone posted that he is having error that something went wrong but see what that the support was very late and the new users will always like instant support or maybe within 5 - 6 hours. So it indicates that our flarum devs team is still small,

You can also share your thoughts in this discussion which one you will prefer and why?

1Dot there have been lengthy discussions on this topic, that have led nowhere. It's a belief discussion where you will never reach a consensus, much like discussing Android vs iOS.

Ultimately you cannot compare those two projects as the circumstances are completely different. Also, it's important to mention that they are based on totally different technology stacks - where again you can discuss in detail what's better - but it really makes no sense.

Personally, I'd rather skip such discussions to review platforms or comparison platforms. If something is helping Flarum, it's an active discussion about this project, as well as an active contribution, of course.

GreXXL Yeah But this is something different I was talking about Support and also about devs and also about why is it still with very less features, Extensions from devs are great but in some extensions we can't see such a great quality, but flarum is a quality cms then again but it doesn't have quantity of features.

Of course it's possible to compare them, you did it yourself to conclude they are different. It would be strange if you could compare only identical things. But let's not exaggerate the differences, Flarum and Discourse are quite similar looking forums after all.

Besides, hundreds of people need to compare them and do that to choose which one is right for them.

There was criticism in the linked thread that the speed of development is greater for Discourse, so differences in maturity, feature set etc compared to Flarum will only get larger with time, not smaller. I'm not sure what to answer to that.

I think you are misunderstanding Open Source software. While you can have a service level agreement with a company buying an enterprise product you cannot expect the same from an Open Source project that is dependent on the goodwill and many hours of its developers contributing. So expecting a reply on every support request in a matter of hours, maybe also on a weekend is really out of scope. To make the connection to Discourse - I am sure you will also there find topics not answered. While I also have to add that all help requests here get attended and a solution is provided for a very high number of people!

Also, I need to add that there are enterprise hosting options coming up for Flarum (Blomstra for example). There you can pay to get an agreed-upon service time. So If you are not able to help yourself and don't want to depend on Open Source support then this might be an option. Or maybe consider just buying other enterprise forum software if that's an requirement.

1Dot and also about why is it still with very less features

This has been discussed many times. Keeping the core small makes way to keep it actively updated while adding more possibilities to extend. Having more extensions operated by the core developers will take time from that. Having more people contribute to Flarum would help of course. But this is a process that's not really in the are of influence of the Flarum team. Flarum is an awesome piece of software - now in stable state. As the community grows, so will the number of contributors and therefor extensions and features.

I think Flarum has a fascinating number of compatible extensions already. You will always find some that are not working as expected but generally speaking there are many dedicated extensions developers around. Making such a general statement is an affront to their contributions - which are mostly also Open Source and thus completely free of charge.

From my point of view, It is too risky to say that one system is better than the other, since the needs of each user are different. What is good for you may be bad for someone else.

Obviously flarum is more user friendly. Much more.
Yes. Disqourse has a lot of features flarum needs but casual user cant just use it.

But flarum isnt stopped in development like others forum engines. Yes its slow, but also open source.

As im a casual i tried to buy a server with ruby (yes you cant just install your forum in one click LIKE FLARUM)....i found it but my knowledge is nothing to set up that type of server.
Im not even talk about that dedicated server is more expensive than shared hosting lol...

So i dont really understand why this type of question has appeared.
