Maybe that can be handy if they do the same that Wordpress doing with Extensions plugins.
But why not? I think that can be handy for FF services.

I think that can be helpful if Flarum have a Extension store built-in with Extiverse and packagist (Concept like repository from Linux but with Flarum similar to Gnome Software and Wordpress.)

With a store built-in just add Extension management to update and uninstall if necessary from the Admin page.

wolfshards there has been such an extension (https://discuss.flarum.org/d/5151-bazaar-the-extension-marketplace/) but it's currently abandoned. Please understand that such an extension is very complex to develop (and especially maintain). Currently Flarum requires SSH access for composer installation anyways. Installing and updating extensions with composer is quite easy. Of course preferably everything is web based. But so long no one has found the time to develop an extension market.

In the mean time I might also point you to this extension: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/27620-mercury-the-extiverse-extension-to-understand-extension-updates - while it's not an interface to install & update extension you can at least verify you are running the latest version without checking Extiverse or try updating with composer.

Why not just pick the Wordpress source code and mix up with flarum? Maybe that just needs some tweaks. I know they was differend betweens two platforms. But i know whats you say and i confirm about the complexity of this. But yeah Composer sound greate like an Sudo Apt from Ubuntu but different. Soo i understand whats you say but this idea is for people that host from Freeflarum. And yeah, is not easy to get console access. Is not like Azure or Google cloud platform where you got a full control of a server container. I know if this is possible that can be handy for Freeflarum users but yeah i saw the Bazaar isn't working well in dev.

For the same reason that you can't just pull the flatbed off of a pick-up truck and stick it on the back of a car.

Suffice it to say, Flarum and Wordpress are distinct enough that any features one would want to imitate from the other would need to be completely rewritten from scratch.

FreeFlarum is a community-run project and not run by the Flarum team. You will need to direct any suggestions or feature requests to their discussion or website. We cannot support FreeFlarum specific issues here at discuss.

Free Flarum already provides a choose and one-click install option for extensions. Much simpler than WordPress.

I see the dashboard but nothing about install. There only installed extensions that can enable or disables. That don't make sense.

wolfshards It makes perfect sense to me. Because they are not " installed " extensions, but " available " extensions. Those can be installed in one-click, the same as your request.

Is beacause Wordpress use a catalog installer and Flarum is such a config extension panel. That why i said is not the same. But now i know about the way they works. Soo i don't complain about thier arguments. Is make sense anyways.

While we will most likely offer a web UI for extension installation at some point, I don't think it will help for the situation you describe.

The most common approach by the Flarum hosting services that exist at this point is I believe a single codebase that's used by all forums, so you can't have individual forums install additional extensions that other forums don't have. So even if we do introduce a web UI for extension (un)installation, I'm certain most of the cheapest Flarum hosting services will have to disable it anyway and provide you with a fixed list of extensions. Only hosting services that provide you with a dedicated instance would likely offer this feature, and they likely won't be cheaper than hosting yourself on a VPS.

That why we needs to think smarter and offert to hosters like FF or another provider all the tools neededs to restricts some core components if they don't want someone messing up like an Hoster Only Panel for exemple. I know beacause i am a Forummotion with PHPBB user before. They did the entire config to make work better and monetize with a subscription where they limit a bunch of functionalities that a normal free user can't do.

Wordpress.com did the same by blocking free user to install extensions and get only access to basic tools.

Soo i know whats you saying Clark, that why i think that can be handful to bring a SDK spécial for Hoster like FF.
