Is there a way to display the first main post and then the latest replies so the latest reply and the first comment that may be days old at the bottom of the thread?

there is not currently a way no, and as far as I know there aren't any extensions that do this at the moment.

So the first post created by the poster stays at the top always and then the newer the reply is then it should show at the top and not the bottom as it does now?

JAC You could commission a developer to make this if you define your budget.

I guess it would be overriding a function to display the newest post first at the top.

JAC that would be correct. I can't speak for the developers here, but I expect no more than 2 hours.

[deleted] I'd wait for a willing developer to come by, estimates are usually personal to the developers and their confidence level in giving them.

JAC If you'd like to commission something like this, you could edit the first post with your compensation offer and I can move it to the Resources > Services tag (or you could post a new discussion there yourself).
