Justoverclock I wasn't referring to using Flickr at all, just the behaviour of pasting the URL of a gallery into a discussion, for example that a link to a photo gallery from Clark's Albums extension could be displayed like this:

That way you could place the gallery anywhere in the post.

luceos I would like to bring this back, and maybe raise it in a separate discussion to seek support, I would be interested too, I think if a few of us agree it shouldn't be too expensive for sponsors. I certainly think it's a feature of great value for Flarum, from a technical point of view it would be complex to implement this?

Jbugy I have been actively working on that extension for the last week. I was hoping for a Cyber Monday release but there are still a few more features I want to add before it's ready.

What kind of features are you looking for? User-created standalone albums? Ability to embed a whole album in a single post? Or just a more advanced image upload in discussions?

Currently I have standalone albums ready, discussion-linked albums (new images appear in either an event post or a comment post). Crop & mask features, drafts and approval. I still want to add stickers and tags before first release. A next release will add the ability to put the same image in multiple albums or no albums.

      Hi @clarkwinkelmann,

That’s really good to hear. Quite simple really, currently running an old IPB forum where users have the ability to upload to thier own albums (which are displayed in a separate album page) and they can pull an image into a post.

That’s all I am looking for! Happy to be a beta tester for you

Again, thank you for the reply!

clarkwinkelmann Does it work with fof-upload? or it uses another upload method? I'm really looking forward to this extension, I wanted to know about fof-upload because it would be great if users could create albums with the images they already have in the Media Manager.

Darkle it's not something I have currently implemented. A picture resource is its own standalone entity separate from FoF Upload file resources. Since I currently don't have standalone picture embedding implemented for posts there's no way to simply migrate from one to another.

However I could implement a feature where you can select a file from FoF Upload instead of from your disk when uploading a new picture. There would then be both an FoF Upload file and a Cimaise (name of the extension) picture with the same file as source.

I am currently finishing up the last details for an early access release of my extension. Just needs a few additional permissions so it can be used in production without exposing too much data when not desired.
