Quarantine for new users possible?

I do not use Flarum yet (except from being a frequent user of https://www.webdeveloper.com), but I am interested in setting up my own private forum using Flarum.

My question is simple. As there always is a risk for spammers and bad behavior. Is there a status for new users like "not approved" or similar in Flarum?

Sibert users require email verification before they’re ‘verified’

It sounds as though you want something like “default group” where users are placed and require authorisation for their - say; first 5 posts.
You can then use something like trust levels or automoderator to move them to the “member” group after these first 5 manually approved posts? 😀

We have a closed forum on Facebook today. Which is restricted to our existing customers. Which means that any competitors have a higher threshold to sniff around. Because I must verify that this is a "legal" customer.

So it is not about posting. It is about reading approval. Is this possible? That I have to approve any new member before they can even read any forum posts?
