Justoverclock if there is any large discussion title will end up eating scroll indicator space or it will show dots, its better to leave it as option if needed we can display under first post or to side
Additional advantage of having it under first post is once user posts question if he reloads he will automatically find related discussions and he will start visiting those discussions. (There will be more scope for visibility) if it is a side some may think it is some kind of ads maybe .
