HTTP 500 Error when editing .htaccess

KAN7A that directory directive does not work in the htaccess. The directive allows the htaccess to execute more overrides. If you have a cpanel or use a hosting plan on a shared server it is very likely that you won't need to add this directive anyhow. Does the website work without that directive?

luceos Oh damn, i feel dumb now. Yeah just saw that in the Install Docs. No it doesnt work tho, i have a photo attached of what error i get if that isnt added. It complains about a directory that doesnt exist.

UPDATE: I did a clean install, a normal install(not with pockethold) and the error persists.

luceos As stated i did a composer install after just to be sure, but its the same error.

KAN7A this is an error by pockethold I assume? I'm not sure it's maintained.. I would highly recommend using composer instead, if you can.

KAN7A this is so odd. It seems to indicate that the directory Flarum was installed in doesn't exist. The only reason I can imagine this happens is when the whole directory is owned by root and not the web user (www-data or similar). Can you check the permissions of the Flarum installation directory (ls -la)?

I also found something else, the webroot is the flarum root folder (not /public). If i change it to /public i get a white screen, instead of the install page i see when the webroot is the flarum folder and i access /public through example.com/public

not sure if pockethold is up to date, you can try to install flarum in your local pc and then move all to your server

I also went and changed the permission to 777 (just as a test) for the folder but it didnt change anything.
