Not sure if it's the right section to ask. I love Flarum but I think it's very unfortunate that if you open a discussion, you don't see the title of the discussion on top (unless it's a brand new discussion). I've seen this has been requested throughout the years and there was even a merge request that never made it and was ultimately closed. In one of the open issues it was recommended that this is better implemented as an extension, rather than core functionality.
So, my question is, how easy it is to do that? And more specifically, how easy it would be for a very experienced Java backend engineer like myself, who has zero knowledge about web-development, PHP and JavaScript? 😀 I can start with the tutorials, but I have so little spare time and so many hobbies, if it's going to take more than a week to be able to grasp the ideas, I'd probably give up. What do you think?
P.S. I don't need something fancy that would automatically appear on scrolling, then disappear, etc., nor having to show the tags or the full title on multiple lines. I guess a simple functionality that would just show a small fixed one-line text overlay on top of the page (when viewing posts other than the first one), maybe with a small font size, truncating the title if too long, working both on desktop and mobile, would be enough.
