Kylo Yes, a separate button just for visitors could be ok. Not ideal. For people like me who want their forum to stay looking minimal. I don’t want two different ways to react. I just want the one simple like button, but allow guests to tap it.

Idea just hit me: Small message pops up when user goes to create a post. Small and goes away or user can close. Not for complex instruction, but just to say for example, “Remember, use [font] to change your font type!” Or, “Remember, be nice! 😊”

Implemented any way could be OK, but perhaps the ideal way would be to use Flarum’s built in message box. What pops up on success or error at the bottom…

clarkwinkelmann Oh yeah! Guess that would work. Ha! I guess if I didn’t want a character it could be hidden probably with css? I’ll have to experiment more with Clippy. I know I tried it out before and it’s neat. But, couldn’t think of a good reason to use it at the time.

clarkwinkelmann Played around with this more and I would actually use it, it’s cute. But, it always shows. If there was a way to hide the animation and only show it when the composer opens, then I might permanently be able to use it.

For now maybe I’ll just turn it on every once in a while for fun. 😸

I got excited when I saw one of the animations is “hide.” I thought maybe that will hide it. But, it doesn’t.

Edit: I discovered I can just do .clippy{display:none;} and then only the speech bubble pops up when needed. Awesome! A few more CSS tweaks and this will work just fine.

Hari oh, that could work except, I don’t want to force them to agree. But, this extension could be modified to be a message only.

No need a plugin for this, only review the class have the Author message in one thread and paste the label but... but I can't do it. I have tried in many ways and I can't find the key. I have also asked for help in the community but I can not do what I want. If any Developer have five minutes to review the problem, please read this thread

It's also probably not very good on mobile, the Clippy element might go out of screen. Also the user can move it. But you could probably fix the bubble position with CSS.

The same extension code would be used to trigger Flarum native alert messages based on specific events.

clarkwinkelmann I added CSS so that is shows perfectly on mobile. Clippy will actually work for now. I don’t love the junk in the console either, but I’m hoping this will just be a temporary solution.

Long term solution might be modifying the extension mentioned above that makes users agree before they post.

How about a word cloud generator? Probably something like mentimeter's word cloud but I'm thinking this could be like the Polls extension wherein we can add it when we start a discussion. Or it could be implemented in any way. This would be a nifty extension. I'm not sure if it's going to take too much work though.
