I was casually updating some extensions through the terminal and something came up so I press "Enter" twice" and then my forum says: Enter your database password to update Flarum. Before you proceed, you should back up your database. If you have any trouble, get help on the Flarum website.@ (https://girefko.com/).

If everything is ok you will see the new version of the falrum, if something goes wrong you can roll back the database and install the old flarum.

If the command you executed was:

composer update datlechin/flarum-link-preview: "*"

The space behind : will have implied to composer that you want to update * too, which is everything.

Has the upgraded completed now?

luceos ahh I see.. that simple Space caused so much trouble 🙂

The upgrade got completed, I went ahead to add my database password to the page as it was requested.

Instead, I reset the password through cPanel and now everything broke.

I believe I must update my connection strings to use the new password but have raised a ticket with my hosting provider to help with that because I have nooo idea how to do that!

Ok for anyone else out there who is in this unfortunate situation, make sure to also edit your config.php in public-html.
