This is because Michael Belgium's discussion views extension doesn't use the icon() helper provided by Flarum.

The icon is shown using CSS instead and is hardcoded.

You could use https://github.com/flarumite/simple-discussion-views instead, but it has fewer features.

Hi there!
Today I'm on a thread bumping frenzy...

When I activate Blomstra Font Awesome 6 (free) it works well in tags.
But somehow the icon for FriendsOfFlarum Custom Footer turns into a square (not displaying icon).

When turning off FA 6, it returns.

Any idea as of how to troubleshoot?

I have updated all extensions and ran
php flarum migrate && php flarum cache:clear
and php flarum assets:publish

Disabled/re-enabled both the footer and the icon extensions and cleared cache in admin-panel.

FullThrottle83 I can only assume that extension uses an icon from FA 4; if you have a paid FA account you can possibly enable legacy mode to solve it. Otherwise that extension probably needs a PR to fix the icon.

Your font awesome was broken, it's not configure has i expect and guides seem obsolete because now all you needs is to put an JS or CSS code over the top of your code.

My site uses subdomains for language. With this extension, on sub.example.com it looks for the TTF file on example.com. Any idea why that is? Ideally it just uses / to find the font, not the FQDM.

How do I use this, I have installed the extension the but I am missing some more steps and I can't find a guide. Please do help

ogxun make sure you ran the Composer commands in the correct folder. The extension should then appear in the Flarum admin panel in the list of extensions.

clarkwinkelmann I did it right, I mean using the FontAwesome 6 sometimes would just show a rectangle box when I refresh my website, probably it took some time to make changes but it works fine now. Thanks again!

I have to deactivate this extension cuz the icons, which added by '::before', were working good before activating this extension, not after activate it, how to fix this? Thanks.
