Install screen not displaying

The issue

Installed Flarum on localhost through XAMPP (with intent to configure and upload via FTP to cPanel). Went to localhost/flarum/ (I installed in folder 'flarum'). Once I configured my database, etc instead of the install screen, I'm greeted with 'Index of' directory. No installation screen displaying.

Flarum information

Information at bottom of directory: Apache/2.4.53 (Win64) OpenSSL/1.1.1n PHP/8.1.6 Server at localhost Port 80

Not sure what I'm doing wrong? I'm new to composer and flarum so I haven't done any of this before. Is also telling me when I click on /public/ that GD extension is required. I've checked php.ini in Apache and ;extension=gd is there so not sure why it's saying it's required. I really am new to all of this so any help is greatly appreciated.

MattyWjeisz you should configure your webroot to be the public folder before starting installation. If you plan to use Flarum in a subfolder in production, it would also be best to make that change prior to starting the installation https://docs.flarum.org/install/#customizing-paths

The GD error might be a result of having different PHP extensions installed for Apache and command-line PHP, or having different PHP versions entirely between Apache and CMD. Flarum checks for its dependencies 2 times, first when using composer (which uses the command-line PHP) and then every time Flarum boots (Apache PHP)

I've followed the directions set out in https://docs.flarum.org/install/#customizing-paths

Only issue I'm having now is GD extension.

Problem solved. The php.ini file was running ; before extension=gd.

Removed ; and is now functioning correctly. Thank you.
