Self Likes disabled in 1.5 but not working

I tried a fresh installation in different sub directory with only bundled extensions and no other extensions installed. Before that, i deleted all files from sub directories in .composer
Still the Like button is visible for user on his own post !
If i disable the extension (likes), like button gone for everyone.
Its either for everyone or none

Even after upgrading to 1.6 this issue is not solved.
I also tried a fresh installation with 1.6... Only with bundled extensions too (no 3rd party) self likes still works

wbntff I have just retested this. Works perfectly for me. In the likes extension you have disabled the option and saved the change?

I continue to have this issue even after 1.7 update

Tested scenarios with flarum in subdomain, main domain and subdirectory
this issue is seen only in subdir installation of flarum
guess something wrong with paths.. flarum is not ready/suitable for /subdir

wbntff I assume this is an isolated issue with this specific feature. We should get confirmation about this issue by reproducing it, then we can offer a solution.

Something is not getting update across versions
Ever since upgrade to 1.5 version, i had this problem.

Installed 1.8.1 in a subdomain and found this unique issue
like and reply positions are interchanged
the one upgraded constantly from 1.0 till 1.8 shows like followed by reply

1.8.1 installed in subdomain of same domain shows reply followed by like

In both cases, self likes appear eventhough disabled in admin menu.

In a fresh installation on a new server+domain, self likes disabled by admin works, but not on old domains where flarum was installed earlier.
Tried clearing .composer directory in root and regenerated everything but issue remains

Updated to 1.8.5 but still flarum inside a subdirectory has self likes enabled.
Is there anyway to disable it other than installing in root or subdomain.

p.s : I've done everything said so far to disable it (if someone just read this topic, please read from 1st post)

wbntff the sequence of likes vs reply depends on which extension is enabled first.

Did you try disabling all third party Extensions to see if the self like issue is resolved then?

wbntff At this point I doubt this issue is originating from Flarum and more has to do with some weird residual files on the server which may have been created in the past. I would suggest contacting your hosting provider about this. Sorry for not having a solution at hand!

luceos I tried installing a fresh instance of flarum enabled only bundled extensions.
Still the problem of self likes exists.

If there are any residue files in .composer , how can they effect if old extensions are removed and even entire flarum directory is removed and re-created with other name.
even database is removed and a new one created.

.composer in /root was emptied before re-installing flarum

Braden On cpanel, back to home dir you would find a folder by name: .composer , delete all files inside this folder and files inside the sub 2 folders. Delete all files but not the folders.

2nd, go to public_html dir, here delete the folder: vendor , then delete files inside the sub folders in storage folder. (files in cache, logs, less, formatter, session e.t.c)

I did this to remove all residual files but on use

Okay ! I just installed flarum on a new server in a subdir and checked by enabling /disabling self likes.
Both worked perfectly.
They fail only on my old installation where this feature was added from 1.6 version of flarum.
I still cannot find what residue files are causing this behaviour ?
I emptied .composer in root dir multiple times but no use
