Bug fix.

-Users without Michael Belgium's Flarum Discussion Views extension have reported an 'unknown column view_count" error. Fixed composer.json to require the third-party extension for install. Sorry for the oversight on my part. 🙂

This should work for you now, @m4v3rick . Requirement has been added to OP.

Can confirm that an error message is thrown and UI won't break anymore. But why does it need Discussion views. The extension caused some performance issues and activating "Enable footer viewlist" breaks my discussions still.

m4v3rick Just tried it. Still breaks the discussion but not every discussion breaks now. 2 out of 6.
I made a few checks and realized that whenever my other test user has a post inside the discussion, the refresh fails. If i delete the post it works.
Does that help?
Refresh works with the posts of the user if i disable "Enable footer viewlist".

This problem and performance issues is, why I keep it deactivated.

Hello, I have installed the extension, however, it does not load me so that a rating can be made and when trying to create a discussion or general answer the error "Please enter a valid rating"

Hello. Did you ensure to run the php flarum migrate and php flarum cache:clear in your terminal? The columns finteger_rating" should appear in Post and Discussion tables in your database. Remember that a discussion tag must already exist and be entered into the console before it will appear in the discussion/post/edit composers.

Finteger Ratings System Update. v1.16. Bug and request fix.

What's New?

-This new update changes the optional 'top ratings' bar to sort by comment_count, eliminating the need for a third-party extension that was said to be resource-exhaustive as a requirement (based off user feedback).

Bug fixes.

-Php has been amended to clear out a bug where users could not post in other discussions with the extension enabled without receiving a 'Please enter a valid rating' exception. This will now only occur in the tag/slug name specified in admin settings, when no user rating is inputted.....both in discussion composer on IndexPage and in individual posts. So users cannot create a discussion or a post without a rating in the tag specified.

Additionally, you can use Flarum's own built-in tag scoping to allow only admins to post the initial review (discussion)...and users to post subsequent reviews in posts, allowing for more control over content.

Proper null checks have been instituted into the javascript so extension does not crash when users go into their profiles and delete a post with a finteger rating, also in the event that finteger ratings posts are moderated and awaiting approval.

Thank you very much for your time in updating the plugin, I tell you that I have applied the update, however it still does not work.

When I create a new discussion if the stars to rate appear, however it does not let me choose or mark a rating, and in the discussion that is already created it does not allow to rate it.

I've run

php flarum migrate
php flarum cache:clear

So I've watched my database and I have my two columns finteger_rating for discussions and posts table.

I've tried to comment the line (and return true) for test and error disappear (but the extension doesn't work and I cannot rate anyway).

So I'm missing something in the installation but have no clue about "what" 😅 If someone have an idea… thanks!

MrEugene it might just be a matter of hiding PHP warnings (the recommended choice for production). Check the display_errors directive in php.ini

While it's a good thing to fix them, PHP warnings are a common occurrence in Flarum extensions and Flarum itself, mostly due to the newer PHP versions becoming stricter and stricter. If the warnings don't lead to any logic issue, it's generally very low priority to fix. Just hide them in production and let the developer know about it.

Generally only developers should keep PHP warnings and deprecations visible on their dev setup to identify them as soon as possible. I'm still baffled at how many hosting companies don't apply the recommended production value by default.

This latest release eliminates reported bugs where user access is simply denied through error and a contains function, if null, will error out the app. The optional "top-ratings" function will no longer grab empty ratings in error. Front-end ratings display has been refined for a sharper look (in the discussion list view).

This new release offers the ability for users to upload images and choose a category to be displayed in the "top-bar" feature and the DiscussionHero. Image url's are validated in the back-end. If no image url is inputted, it will load a placeholder image.

The top-bar feature itself gets a sleek new look, in addition to custom scrollbar css and snap-scroll animation for mobile. There are also dynamic "faces" that are displayed in the "top-bar,' dictated by rating. Number of reviews are also displayed.
