how to add a text manually to the header ?

is it possibly to manaully edit any file to add text in the header ?

please see the screenshot i added. i want to add my contact information to that exact spot. can i edit any file in the files uploaded in my file manager without using anything composer ?

That's unfortunately not possible, you will have to use the Flarum extension API to achieve it.

You might be able to insert HTML above the Flarum app in the admin panel and then move it above the header using CSS.

Why not use fof links to create a link to a contact post or page (fof pages)?

i wish the flarum comes with more sensible extentions as the default extensions are small. since many of us do not know how to use composer and don't have access to ssh root because we are using a shared hosting and not vps.

i thought i could just go to the flarum files and edit the header etc

jbstore there will soon be a extension manager that will allow for easier modification. Never the less it's always worth to get a bit more technical knowledge about the platform you are using to host your Forum.

about 5 people i know plus me are having hard time getting our forums to be busy because we are not techie as you guys. if this 4 plugins can come as default too, it will help many new forums to get busy and alot of people will move to flarum within minutes.

thread view counts ( this helps the admin and others to know people are visiting his forum and threads )
Hide , Reply to view hidden text/download etc ( this mostly will make new boards gain visitors )
fake members ( to boost the forum )

Flarum ships with just the bare minimum to make it as lighweight as possible, and to provide a base for building and customizing to your particular needs.

You can easily add the features you need, here are some extensions that will help you:

IanM you have a good point. but i had to uninstall and reinstall to the latest but do not see any changes and i so want to install this features BUT. i am on shared hosting , i don't have access to root ssh. so can't use composer. if there was a features manager that enable you to install this features directly from the admin area would have been a big PLUS. to save people that are not technie like you guys.

We do have a solution currently under development - Package Manager, which will solve this issue and allow you to install/update/remove extensions from the admin interface.

I am hopeful it will be completed soon, but I don't have any firm timelines for it's release just yet

You can locally install extensions (use the same php version as your shared hosting plan) and copy the files over, this is documented also as with other approaches to get you started: https://docs.flarum.org/composer
