Toby What do you think of TIDAL, that new lossless streaming service? I have tried it and it has potential but it needs more polish. I don't like their branding too much either... hmm.

flame I wasn't aware if it was celebrity endorsed or not, But their streaming service costs what Spotify does, and if you want lossless streaming it's a bit more which makes sense.

Anyone have experience of other lossless streaming services?

I've had a Spotify Premium account for a few years, but their bitrate is patchy. It's compressed but is supposed to be CD quality, but it isn't to my ears, and some is obviously much less.

antonjw I'm using Spotify as well and it's alright – Tidal cares too much about rap music and their Mac app isn't done... so I'm hoping down the road it'll be better. ?

I recently started listening to a few CDs again. I've been such a convert to streaming... I have used it exclusively for like 4 years. I do like it.

But you know... those CDs are mine... so have kinda been reconnecting with some of the stuff I bought and loved when I was younger and much cooler. And do you know what... they sound waaaaayyyy better than Spotify, through the same equipment. Way more punchy and alive. I feel more alive for listening to it!

Music is amazing again ?

I'd be interested to try out one of the lossless services. Maybe I'll look for a trial.

antonjw Yeah, I know Tidal offers trials so you could give it a shot. Let us know if you think it's as good as they claim. ?

antonjw I've used magnatune for awhile (got a lifetime thing with them). They have their own thing going (they're a record label) so you probably won't recognize... anything on there.
But if you like background ambient music, lots of really good stuff. Catchy stuff too like this.
If you like a album, you can download the original .wavs' and burn to disc and keep or share with friends or use it per Creative Commons ?
Anyways, one of my favorites
