Problem with url /public/

I have read most of the articles that mention the problem with the url :/public/at the end of the domain.....

Personally I have Flarum installed on a subdomain and the url should be like this... forum.domain.com but it appears like this forum.domain.com/public/

I tried to modify the config.php file but the result is an error, entering forum.domain.com and deleting /public/.

I also installed the Blog extension (it's great and congratulations).
but it also appears like this foro.dominio.com/public/blog and the truth is that I don't like it. For SEO I do not think it is advisable.

Any explanation or method I can use?

PS: I have read many discussions but I have not yet been able to solve it.

iamjoselorenzo you will need to use URL rewriting as described within our documentation in order to get rid of the public path.

GreXXL I have added the lines of code to the htaccess but the server gives me error 500.

I have removed /public/ from the config.php file.

The forum has been working for 1 week and several days.
I am really frustrated with this. The rest I have achieved, and many thanks to you. But this problem continues to this day....

iamjoselorenzo the Directory statement cannot be in the htaccess. That statement tells Apache to allow overrides from that directory, the exact one you're in. If it would allow overrides being declared from that directory it would be a security risk. It needs to be in the vhost file, for apache that's usually in /etc/apache/sites-enabled or sometimes /etc/httpd/sites-enabled.
