Hi, Here, Clark mentions that :

To Embed a pdf viewer to display in a post, and people can read through / view the file without downloading it?

I am not sure would anyone be interested in developing a custom bbcode extension?

ash3T I think it's a great idea, but it might need a lot of work, because some mobile browsers don't open PDF by default, so the website need to embed another frame to force the browsers to open PDFs, instead of download them. Personally, I think iframe might be a solution (though it's somehow unsafe, and many people don't like it 😅).

Until then, you can store PDF file, share it (for/to all), copy and paste link directly in Flarum post (I think Media Embed should be enabled).

I paste the link, with .pdf file, which I can open on browser, but it doesn't show in the Flarum post. Can you say more about how can I make it work? By the way, I have MediaEmbed enabled.

MediaEmbed doesn't support embedding local/arbitrary PDF files. It might only support PDF files hosted on Google Drive or other similar services, and even there it might be just a thumbnail and not a full browser. It just uses the iframe-based embed provided by the external service.

Yes. I am currently use iframe to show PDF preview on a flarum site. However, since there are few iframe source from different site, some did not have height and width, so I can only set one width and height, which is not suitable for viewing PDF files, so I ask to see if a custome bbcode for PDF viewer would be a solution.

ash3T I'm working on an extension that you can customize iframe, I think it would be released soon. However, if we can have a PDF viewer extension, that would be the best.
