CyberGene something ought to be clarified with this new tag text color contrast fix. It is definitely not and was not meant to be a solution to all visual impairment problems, because there is no one fix for all of them.
The implementation offers two important things, one is a fix for unreadable text on bad background colors, not just tags, but here is an example with this Resources
tag which is not readable to everyone. And then on dark mode where the tags Darkness
and Feedback
are then not readable to anyone.
In this case, it's true that the text color change is unnecessary with some colors, we actually increased the threshold number multiple times to tweak that, and this is new so it'll probably be further tweaked.
The second thing this implementation introduces is the possibility for us in future major versions to easily implement different contrast and color modes for different visual impairment issues, similar to GitHub's new user theme modes.
