With v1.7 out of the door and some v1.7.1 patches done, we now move on to v1.8, after a break 👼.

v1.8 will be dedicated to performance improvements and bug fixes and is very likely the last v1.x release before v2.0 development begins.

Today we released flarum/core v1.7.2 which addresses an issue with the SelectDropdown component as used by fof/discussion-language, fof/user-directory and others.

The button label would display as an empty string when the value was changed from default.

Many thanks to our friends at @glowingblue for making us aware of the issue, which was introduced in v1.7.0

It seems we haven't really been keeping up with these diaries. My apologies.

Flarum v1.8.0 has entered the QA stage, which implies that we're on feature freeze and we're internally testing the upcoming release. This also means we will be shipping v1.8.0 within the next 2 weeks.

Flarum v1.8.0 will be the last planned release for v1. After v1.8.0 work will start on v2.0.

Discuss, this community, now runs php 8.2 and the latest Flarum nightly (v1.8.0-dev).

luceos I've seen something in various views that I'm not sure if it was already there before the update. It's not important but I'm sharing it with you here just in case. When defining the labels there is not enough space between the icon and the name or the space that was there has been removed but no padding has been included with CSS to maintain it.

I just noticed that on mobile you can swipe discussions to mark them as read as a guest user. I can't do this on a 1.7 forum, can anyone confirm?

Unexpectedly found the reply box in the mobile view has an offset, is this a style bug? Or is it intentionally designed to be like this?

          I think it is ready.
Salute to all the great staff members.
