NSFW stands for “not safe for work” and refers to content that is not suitable for viewing in a professional or public setting. This category allows users to share and discuss explicit or adult-themed content.

I think it'll be good to have an extension where it gives options to admins, mods or members and maybe even guests to mark a member comment as NSFW.

  • Respecting the community by allowing visitors to mark mature content as such on the post's "NSFW"
  • Once a user marks a reply as "NSFW", the system hides the explicit post
  • Only members with certain badges to view NSFW hidden marked replies
  • Option for members, guests, admins to mark NSFW content but the mods should have the final say if something is or isn't NSFW

You might be able to achieve this with my extension Collapsible Posts. You can create a custom collapse reason "NSFW", then the posts will only show with an additional click.

If you wanted a new setting in the user area to always expand posts that were collapsed with a specific reason this shouldn't be too difficult to add.

I'm not sure what you mean with the adult category. If you split your forum in a NSFW area and a general audience area, can't you just delete or move the inappropriate posts? If you want to make the NSFW category invisible by default you could use one of the extensions that lets users join groups at will and protect that tag with group permissions.

I need something that's quick and easy to use.

    • I have a NSFW board. However, Moving, splitting posts takes too much time and effort.
    • Marking the post "NSFW" is quicker. The easier something is to do, the more people are likely to use it.
    • I want to encourage my community to mark explicit content NSFW
    • I want only members with certain badges to view NSFW marked replies
    • It's another tool to help govern a safe place for the community
    • Any tool to help us make moderators life's easier is a positive change
