Integrating Wordpress with Flarum

Hello, I am absolutely new to Flarum and am not a developer. I have a wordpress website on a shared cPanel hosting. I want to be able to use Flarum to build a discussion community around my wordpress website.

Although I tried reading through all the previous posts, I wasn't able to gather the functionality of this wordpress plugin for flarum.

Will this extension/plugin be able to let my users who already have an account on my wordpress website via Google/LinkedIn/Twitter be able to login to Flarum seamlessly?
For example, I have abc.com, and abc.com/flarum (or flarum.abc.com). Can somebody who is logged into abc.com, via their Google account, seamlessly access flarum.abc.com without having to login again?

If not, can anyone let me know if there's a way the above could be achieved, I'd be obliged!

akrimony I usually don't hijack threads but since the question mentions other solutions, I can confirm my paid WordPress integration extension supports global login and logout and I have a list of the social plugins for WordPress that have been tested compatible with it, to be found in the extension documentation.

I haven't tested maicol07's extension, but I know I had to add some custom code to my extension to support some of the social logins because of the redirects they perform upon login. Not all WordPress social plugins will work the same though, some might work out of the box.

clarkwinkelmann Thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention, but I'm looking for an open source solution to this. $5 per month, in my opinion, is a little too much at-least for me who's on shared hosting and every dollar counts.

Basically I'm trying to setup a not-for-profit hub to share knowledge with UX design community totally free of cost, so a paid extension would be absolutely last resort for me.

akrimony You may try https://github.com/AlexanderOMara/flarum-wp-users - it reuses WordPress cookies to handle authentication and I had more luck with it than with OP's extension.

rob006 Hey, please feel free to snub me off for asking a very stupid question, but this plugin is asking me to fill in the following details from Wordpress. Any idea where can I find these things in my already installed wordpress instance?

Login URL (.../wp-login.php)
Profile URL (.../wp-admin/profile.php)
Cookie Name (wordpress_logged_in_...)
Database Host (DB_HOST)
Database User (DB_USER)
Database Password (DB_PASSWORD)
Database Name (DB_NAME)
Database Charset (DB_CHARSET)
Database Prefix ($table_prefix)
Logged In Key (LOGGED_IN_KEY)

I can manage the login URL and profile URL, but others?

akrimony These values should be in wp-config.php of your WordPress installation. I'm not sure about cookie name, you may need to check this in your browser which cookie is used after log-in.

Hey, writing in to inform this extension didn't work, after putting in the values from wp-config and cookie name from firebug, it simpy logs me in to my wordpress install but does not log me in to flarum at all.

akrimony Do you have your forum on subdomain or different domain? I had this extensions working, but forum was in subdirectory (example.com/forum/).

Would you have a demo or a live website at the moment where you've successfully done this? Would it be possible to take a look?
