Can't install any extension, hell

I was trying to install this extension using command composer require davidnery/nickname-group-formatter but nothing happened.

My root directory when I type cd is: bin composer.lock logs php-bin-php56 tmpbin-tmp email php-bin php-bin-php74 vendorcomposer.json flarum php-bin-php51 php-bin-php80 www

In www there are public files, some flarum folders and scripts, including config.php

I am kinda new to flarum, and I need some information about installing extensions, like what directory should I install it? And what to do after installation with composer?

BotHerbert do you see flarum and composer.json in www too? Then execute the command there.

As for the extension, it has the incompatible tag, it won't work anyway. You can see which extensions are compatible by searching on https://extiverse.com (or check Flarum's new site at https://next.flarum.org/extensions?sort=-created_at).
