Hello everyboby
I'm a brand new fellow in the flarum world, and glad to be so.
I'm trying to have more tracking information on my brand new flarum installation (V 1.8.1) by using the matomo extension.
But I have no result displayed on my matomo server.
Unfortunatly, I'm not such a technical guy and I must have done something wrong. I've been reading a lot by I did'nt find anything to help.
The matomo server is ok and I get tracking informations displayed with others url.
I've tried several different test like: installing fof/analytics extension instead of matomo extension, having the same configuration on a freeflarum installation (used for testing), ...
But no success, same results, and no error message to help
May be I'm wrong in the path/to the matomo server or something like ...
Could anyone help?

  • Can you share your forum URL or try checking the browser development tools to see whether any request is made to your Matomo server under the Network tab?

Also take into account that you might have opted-out of tracking on your main browser via cookie, you might be serving Do Not Track header or might be using an ad blocker extension that prevents Flarum from making the request to your Matomo.

If you have my extension enabled and have filled all settings, then the javascript tracker should be visible at the bottom of the HTML generated for every Flarum page and you should see attempts to make requests to the Matomo server in the network tab of the development tools.

If the URL is malformed or some other setting is invalid, this should also become obvious in the development tools where requests will show as failed with the details.

zil Which Matomo extension are you referring to? As far as I know Matomo has problems with SPAs so it requires a specific extension to make it work.

I'd like to run Matomo Analytics from Clark Winkelmann, so I've tried it first.
As it was not running, I've tried also to install FriendsOfFlarum Analytics.
And I've also tried with FriendsOfFlarum Analytics on a freeflarum.com subdomain (used for testing).
I've also made tests with differents browsers to be sure not to have problem with adblockers...
None of this give me results in the matomo server.
When creating an input in matomo with the domain (as the flarum forum is installed as a subdomain), my mamoto server get results.
As I have no issues reported, I can't come to a conclusion. Either I've forgotten something in installation or, and you're are right, a specific extension is missing, or ...

Darkle Many thanks for helping. That's what I'm going to do. Originally I tought it was not suitable to overload this discussion thread with my small issues.

clarkwinkelmann here is the url: https://909.kjnx.tech/
This is a test version of the forum and I can give you admin rights so you can check forward. The original is at: https://909.kjnx.org (but matomo isn't installed yet).
Matomo is at: https://matomo.kjnx.org/ and I can create an user for you if needed.
For sure I've taken care of tracking options on my browsers (I have made tests with differents browsers).
It seems requests are sent to the matomo server (seen in development tools) but I'm not such a technical guy to see if it's ok. Futhermore, please note that I am a brand new user on flarum (as on matomo).

zil looking at your site, everything seems to be configured correctly. I see the tracking code and I see a successful tracking request being made to your Matomo server.

Are there absolutely zero reports in your Matomo dashboard? (Here for site ID number 3)

clarkwinkelmann Clark, I'm so sorry. I've taken time to check all trackers for the various browsers on the differents PC I use... I also check with VPN or not ...
Well, it looks like everything is working now
I'm so sorry because I should have do that job before wasting your time.
            Many thanks to Darkle too.
            Many many thanks to you
