How to create a center column with background image?

I'm trying to wrap my head around Flarum website/style design. It looks like it mostly involves using a CSS input in the admin panel and extensions. What I'm trying to figure out right now is how to create a center column for the website content with a background image on each side.

My current website is: https://squattheplanet.com

Which has this design (using a different forum software that I'm working on moving to Flarum), so please take a look at that if you'd like to see an example of what I'm trying to achieve.

So I guess my question is what would be the best CSS to use to create this kind of layout for Flarum?

EDIT: I figured it might be helpful to have a screenshot of my current design as well.

MoshBit You can adapt the css that you use in your current website to your Flarum, I think it would be an efficient way, without having to write the css from scratch (just change the selectors), for what you say, if I understood correctly, would be as follows:

    background: url(https://squattheplanet.com/styles/uix_dark/desert_background_72dpi.jpg) no-repeat;
    background-attachment: fixed;
    background-position: center center;
    background-size: cover;
}
body {
    width: 1500px;
    margin: 0 auto;
}

The rule of the body ( width: 1500px; ) should be improved to adapt it according to screen formats, but you know is an example.
