Hi,

I'm wondering why we can't have a feature like this as the default in Flarum. Currently, we can set a default image size on upload, but we're unable to click on them. If I upload larger-sized images, it's okay individually, but when there are around 10 of them in a reply, it becomes cumbersome with annoying scrolling.

Wouldn't it be simpler if we could:

  1. Set a default image size for posts, like 200x200 thumbnails.
  2. Clicking on the photos would then open them in full size, popup/modal/fancybox etc...

This will also be much easier to create galleries and such.

I've tried various image and gallery extensions, but none seem to offer this functionality or work properly.

Could we please consider incorporating this feature?

Thank you! 🙂

hereistheme are you talking about adding this to the feature set of the FoF Upload extension? Flarum on its own does not allow the upload of images at all.

GreXXL i guess this should be a default feature without using other extensions. image upload/thumbnail/enlarge/gallery

hereistheme this has been asked/proposed several times. The concept of Flarum is to keep an essential and extensible core maintained very actively and only add as little as possible features to the core. Extensions add all other features. So, upload will likely not become a core extension anytime soon. You can read more about that in our docs: https://docs.flarum.org/extend

GreXXL i understand that, i thought that having such feature in core would be possible as it is like a standard feature with most of the CMS`s.

Subarist thank you! i tried it and for some reason it doesn't work.. :/
