Get discussions in reverse order (most recent first)

Hey guys, I'm using flarum with Django and I'm having problems getting discussions in reverse order the API /api/discussions gives me the paginated result bringing up the oldest discussions first. is there any way to bring up the most recent discussions first?

Beissenguel you can customize the ?sort= query parameter when performing the REST API request.

createdAt is probably the value you're looking for.

I wanted to share the example https://discuss.flarum.org/api/discussions?sort=createdAt but for some reason it currently returns a 500 error on our forum 😅

You can play with the sort options on the homepage and look at the browser network tab to see how the other sort options are named in the API. You can also add a minus sign (-) in front of most options to switch the order.

clarkwinkelmann Thanks, but what I'd really like to do is sort the posts in a discussion by showing the newest first. is there a plugin or can this be done using flarum itself?

/api/posts?filter[discussion]={discussion_id}&sort=-number
or
api/posts?filter[discussion]={discussion_id}&sort=-createdAt

Beissenguel both should be valid sort options. Is there any issue?

In the single page app, the post stream is sorted by post number. But unless you use an extension can can move posts or edit dates, sorting by either value will result in the same output since numbers are assigned chronologically when created.

@clarkwinkelmann In may case sort by number is not working. but by createdAt is working it enough for me 😃, I'm not using a extension in this case just fetching from the API directly
