500 Error on Email Tests Despite Proper SMTP Settings

The issue

I'm getting a 500 error when trying to initiate an email test. My SMTP settings are configured properly.

Here are some error logs that my hosting provider sent me:

This is why my hosting provider told me to do. I'm not sure what it means, but it sounds like they want me to edit files in the vendor folder, but won't that be overwritten on a Flarum update?

I'm also almost positive Flarum does not use that package. Knowing your extensions is a good start to identify issues.

luceos I installed Farum and did not make any changes to extensions or anything.

Jonathanb987 try running composer update, then check the php version the site runs as, it needs to be 8.2 like the one in CLI.

This is what I got running a composer update (and yes I'm in PHP 8.2):

Package swiftmailer/swiftmailer is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use symfony/mailer instead.

Jonathanb987 yeah so all of this should just work. Unless your website runs as a different php version.

I'm using Mailgun and have tried integrating via SMTP and API key. Neither work.

The log email driver doesn't work either.

Works now.

Any idea why?

Jonathanb987 I can only assume opcache got in the way. Opcache caches the files, so if you run composer commands these changes are not reflected unless you clear the opcache, either by restarting your php, webserver or running an opcache command manually..
