Archiving Tags

Good morning all!

I want to know if, maybe I am just doing it wrong, there is a way to archive a full tag and all conversations in that tag.

For instance, my site is a ticket exchange site. A primary tag is Truist Park Tickets a sub tag is Marlins 4/22-4/24.
Now that today is 4/25, I would like to drag that sub-tag into a new primary tag called Archives and move all related discussions there as well.

treyb create a new primary tag called archive. Set permissions to only visible to admin and enable the tag setting hide from index.

Now move any other tag underneath to mark their discussions archived. Understand that a) discussions will still show up when searched by an admin and b) might still be in another tag that makes them still visible..

luceos b) is what I am running into. I hid from all discussion, and am fine with others seeing them. It enables people to gain trust for other sellers. The main thing I wish I could do is once its moved, the old tags on the discussions automatically change to Archive instead of Truist Park Tickets

Moving the tags in the admin panel won't automatically assign the new parent tag and un-assign the old on the discussion. If the number of discussions isn't too big, you could use Mass Actions to assign new tags to all discussions at once or in batches (click load more under the tag until there's nothing new, then select all and choose new tags) https://discuss.flarum.org/d/30122-mass-actions You can first change the tree of tags in the admin panel and then use Mass Actions to update the existing discussions, or you could do this as an SQL query as well if there are many discussions to update (discussion_tag pivot table).
