luceos Is there a way to have "folders" of topics? It's a bit more traditional and I think preferred by many. An option to switch between tags and folders would be great. Is there an extension to do this?
I don't understand this question. Do you imply editing discussions to change their tag or just viewing tags like going directly toProposals orSupport ?
@luceos I would be inclined to think @BrodyStone21 may be referring to the XF categorization tree.
I'm sure you're probably already aware of how it works aye. Basically achieves the same thing as tagging, although I guess there's just like this much more structured feel about stacking threads/discussions within "forum" containers then having those containers stacked within other containers...🤔if that makes sense.
Whereas while tags generally enable the same hierarchical organization as category containers. The difference could sort of be like the difference between wearing a suit vs wearing a little badge.... figuratively speaking of course.
A better way of describing it would be like trying to organize inherently disorganized things, eg: marbles, by slapping stickers on 'em vs gathering them all into a container.
Personally I don't mind either way now.
It was a little strange at first getting used to the Flarum tagging systems. But I experienced the same with all the other brands too. As much as I frown upon XF nowadays, I can't deny their categorization tree thing is pretty solid aye mate....😎yet it could be done a heck of a lot better imo.
Hey @BrodyStone21, there's a 'Categories' extension available for Flarum. Definitely not comparable to XF's categories. Though it's probably worth checking out.
I'm using it on three sites at the moment. Pretty good I reckon.
