getting a ">" in front of a manual quote

Disabled all plugins and css + header customizations but the problem still presists.
I've also checked the sourcecode and "<blockquote class="uncited"" is missing completely.

What could've caused such a thing? But more importantly how can get rid of it?

NoIdeaWhatThatIs I don't understand your problem.

When you use the "Quote" button provided by the Mentions extension, it will inject the quoted text formatted as a Markdown mention, with > in front. I don't think this can be changed. If you have disabled the Markdown extension it will still insert the Markdown syntax, but Flarum will not render it as a quote block, so you'll see the ">" verbatim.

Please include your php flarum info output and if possible, a screenshot of your problem.

Sadly i am not able to upload images.
The quote i've just made here is as it should be, but i have a > in front of the quote, that's actually the problem

I think the issue here is that if you disable the Markdown extension, the quote/reply function also doesn't render. For this reason I built bokt/mentions back in the day, it works based on bbcode instead. You can give that a spin if you want, as bbcode ought to be supported even if markdown isn't.

NoIdeaWhatThatIs the other option is enabling flarum/markdown combined with flarum/mentions and clearing cache; that's the default and vanilla way of using Mentions.
