Error With new Flarum

The issue

So I recently installed the software and it went through fine but now when I try to post/manage the settings ect I get a 406 not allowed error the host has said:

"regarding the issues, I understand the issue is with .htaccess rules , this need to audited with the assistance of experience programmer,"

Not sure what this means and I thought it would be easy and simple to run what do I need to do and I dont understand all this stuff

Alter45 so, everything worked previously? Did you make any change to the hosting before the error started happening?

I see your forum is in a subfolder. Do you have multiple .htaccess files? Can you share the content of all of them?

Are you able to share your php flarum info output?

HTTP 406 is quite an odd code, the absence of any htaccess or rule within should not lead to that error, so it might be something additional that isn't part of the default Flarum htaccess that causes this, maybe an errorpage directive? Or perhaps you're operating with a proxy in front of the Flarum server?

Yes I see .htacess is int he subfolder i cannot as Im using shared hosting?

Alter45 look I can imagine your disappointment, but we don't even have the basic information we need to give you directions on how to identify the root cause. Can you please share the output of your php flarum info, run it from the commandline. Clark actually asked for this as well two days ago and without that information we are literally flying blind.

Just to be clear, Flarum runs perfectly fine, this issue is caused by your hosting environment and we'll gladly help you identify the underlying problem given some patience from your and our end. And sufficient information on your hosting environment to begin with.

Alter45 then ask your hosting support. This is not a flarum issue, but a hosting issue.
